Excellent post, setup was simple, only issue I'm having is WebSVN will not prompt for user/password, only states "don't have permission"

If I access my repos via http and authenticate, then go to WebSVN is allows access, but never prompts for user... is this a problem I'm having with apache or the php WebSVN? everything else works fine...

I'm using Mac (Lion) svn 1.6, apache 2.2.21 and WebSVN 2.3.3

I know I'm two years late to the party, but I have a question?
The tutorial is excellent, I have both Websvn and http svn working fine, I set users/password as instructed for my different repos. They restrick on the http side fine, but the Websvn is still wide open? Does it not reference the same httpd.conf and user.conf files in the apache side.

I'm using a Mac (Lion) and built in apache 2.2 and SVN 1.6xxx

Thanks for your solution. Just about every other person on the web said it couldn't be done, while a few people posted partial solutions. This is the most complete one I've found after a couple days of searching. Thanks for posting it.

Hello, Very good tutorial. But the easier way to setup a complete versionning environment with apache, subversion and Trac (edgewall), you can try SPMPT.
